Structural and renovation works were completed to an Iceland retail outlet in Crayford, London.
The retail operation was continuous throughout a 6 week work duration.
The removal of supporting columns (by others), within the main ground floor shop area, resulted in a deflection of the main lateral supporting beam. This caused considerable structural movement to the upper floor and roof. The movement was manifested by a ‘smiling facade’. The deflection could not be jacked back into position and so had to be ‘built out’.
